Indoor sprays are scented blends that are intended to improve the environment of the home, the office, etc. Some of them, in addition to promising a good indoor air, are supposed to have sanitizing, acaricidal, bactericidal, virucidal and fungicidal properties. Even if the intent is basically good, the real question is: Do we really need to permanently disinfect the indoor air we live in? Sanitizing: what does that mean? Are sprays harmless themselves?
To sanitize: To make healthy or healthier (synonyms: to purify, to disinfect, to cleanse, to sterilize).
The first observation is whether or not it is necessary to disinfect the environment we live in. For about 45,000 years, human beings have been living in an environment that has not been disinfected. In normal circumstances and under normal health conditions, our body is perfectly capable to handle this situation. Therefore, there is no point in systematically disinfecting the indoor air in our homes, unless it is necessary for health reasons or because there are sick or vulnerable people.
On the other hand, a spray that disinfects the air will therefore make it healthier in terms of bacteria or viruses by its action on microorganisms. Nevertheless, in order to carry out this disinfection, if we introduce VOCs (usually alcohols) or toxic products (toxic disinfectant molecules in high concentrations), it is easy to understand that we have disinfected the indoor air by spraying compounds that pollute it and make it less chemically healthy!!! So, what can we do?
The answer lies in the specificity of the products. To do this, SANIRIS offers ranges of spray products with specific properties, adapted to the conditions we find in the place:
- Indoor air depollutants with pollutant adsorption technology to remove them from the air (see spray depollutants)
- Disinfection of air and surfaces when needed (see disinfectants)
- Comfort spray, developed in aromatherapy
- Acaricidal or insecticidal products
All of these ranges of products are developed with ingredients of natural origin such as essential oils and plant extracts. They have no propulsion gases and no alcohol (except for specific applications) and most of them do not have hazard pictograms on the back of the label. This has allowed us to apply the FAMILY logo on the back of our products that meet the criteria for optimal user protection.
